The "Ski or Board in 4" Breakdown
This isn't just a one-off lesson; it’s a progression session. You get four days of everything you need to actually feel confident on your feet.
4 Days of Lessons: You’ll be with professional instructors who know Bachelor’s unique terrain. They’ll take you from "how do I put these boots on?" to carving turns.
Note: lessons are 5 hours each. So be prepared accordingly!
4 Days of Gear: No need to drop a paycheck at REI yet. High-quality rentals (skis/poles or snowboard and boots) are included for all four days.
4 Days of Lift Access: You’ll start on the beginner carpets and move up to the Sunrise lift as you progress.
The Graduation Gift: If you complete all four days, you typically score an incredible deal on a season pass or future tickets to keep the momentum going for the rest of the season. Not to mention half off next seasons pass in 2027!
Pro Tips for Your First Day
Arrive Early (The "Sunrise" Rule): Most beginner lessons meet at the Sunrise Base Area. Aim to be there at least 45–60 minutes before your lesson starts. Parking fills up, and you’ll want time to get fitted for your gear without rushing.
Layer Like a Local: Bend weather is "variable." Wear moisture-wicking base layers (no cotton!), a mid-layer for warmth, and a waterproof outer shell. Even if it’s sunny, the wind at Bachelor can bite.
Hydrate and Snack: The altitude is real. Drink more water than you think you need and keep a granola bar in your pocket.
Sunscreen is Mandatory: Even on gray "Cascades Gray" days, the snow reflects UV rays like a mirror. Don't end up with the "goggle tan" burn on day one.
Why It Works
The "In 4" program is built on muscle memory. By day three, the "pizza" and "french fry" (or toe-side/heel-side) movements start to feel natural. By day four, you’re usually ready to explore more of the lower mountain on your own.
Post-Mountain Ritual
In true Bend fashion, your day isn't over when the lifts stop spinning. Head back into town and hit a brewery on the Westside to swap stories about your best (and funniest) falls. You’ve earned it.
